Introduction to Virus :
Computer viruses have the potential to wreak havoc on both business and personal computer. Worldwide , most businesses have been infected at some point .
A virus is a self replicating program that produces its own code by attaching copies of it into other executable codes. This virus operate without the knowledge of desire of the user .Like a real virus, a computer virus is contagious and can contaminate other files.
However virus can infect outside masons only with the assistance of computer users .Some virus affect computers as soon as their code is executed ; other viruses life dormant until a pre-determined logical circumstances it met .
There are three categories of malicious programs ::
> Trojans and rootkits
> virus
> Worms
Worms is a malicious program that can infect both local and remote machines .
Worms spread automatically by infecting system after system in a network and even spreading further to other networks. Therefore worms have a greater potential for causing damage because they do not rely on the user's action for execution .
There are also malicious program in the wild that contain all of the features of those three malicious program .

A virus code is developed by using programming language or construction kits anyone with basic programming language can create a virus .
👉Replication :
A virus first replicates itself within a target system over a period of time.
👉Launch :
It is activated when a user performs certain actions such as triggering or running and infected program .
👉Detection :
A virus is identified as a threat infecting target systems .Its actions cause considerable damage to the target systems data.
👉Incorporation :
Antivirus software developers assemble defences against the virus.
👉Elimination :
User are advised to install antivirus software updates thus creating awareness among user groups.
Why do people create computer viruses ??
Computer viruses are not self generated , but are created by cyber criminal minds , intentionally designed to cause destructive occurrences in a system. Generally viruses are created with a disreputable motive.
Cyber criminals create viruses to destroy a company's data, as an act of vandalism or a prank or to destroy a company's products .
However, in some cases, viruses are actually intended to be good for a system. Those are designed to improve systems performance by deleting previously embedded viruses from files.

- Install an anti-virus program and keep it up-to-date and regularly run scans.
- Install an anti-malware program to stop software installing without your knowledge.
- Never download and install software from the Internet unless you are certain it is from a trusted source.
- Do not open email attachments unless you have scanned them first, even a picture can carry a virus.
- Do not trust cracked or hacked software as they often contain malware, Trojans.
